Did you ever hear about sea glass?

Praia dos Cristais at Laxe is a small cove where a significant amount of glass has been worn smooth by the sea and has accumulated on the beach, giving it a distinctive appearance because of the green, brown and white glass particles resembling small crystals.

Nature has made something beautiful out of what people could no longer use. It is a place that makes you think about how people deal with nature. It is forbidden to take any pieces of glass with you as it will spoil the experience for others to enjoy this special sight and experience. The beach is accessible by car and offers some amenities such as parking, lifeguards, showers, and access to persons with a disability.

The praia dos cristais is located in Laxe, close by A Coruña, a town in the Galicia region of Spain, which is known for its seafront promenade, charming villages, and seafood cuisine.

Laxe forms part of the Costa da Morte, that is characterized by heavy rocks, steep cliffs, deserted beaches, and authentic fishing villages, making it a visually striking and distinctive coastal region. The name 'coast of death' originated from the many shipwrecks that have occurred along its rocky coastline due to strong currents and ferocious waves. This area is also steeped in mysticism, with legends and myths adding to its allure, such as the belief that it was the end of the known world and the final destination for pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela.
